Do you struggle with healthy morning routine habits? I am a huge believer in morning routines to start your day with easy and healthy habits. These 5 healthy morning routine habits will help you become more productive and happier.
The best part is that these simple healthy habits take less than 5 minutes each to incorporate into your morning routine. Certainly, your morning routine really sets the tone for the rest of your day.
I have been doing these 5 healthy habits and I see a huge difference in my productivity and overall happiness.
List of Healthy Morning Routine Habits
Make Your Bed
I know you heard this simple habit before but it’s well-known for a reason. When your space is clean and organized, you automatically feel so much better.
Making your bed will take you less than 2 minutes but you will feel accomplished. Above all, you will go to a made bed at night! I sometimes have to wait until my dogs are out of the bed to make it but it’s worth it.
So, I was one of those people who were very skeptical about meditation. I always thought it wouldn’t make a change and also it was too hard to keep up.
This was until I read this book %10 Happier by Dan Harris. After having a nationally televised panic attack on Good Morning America, Dan Harris wanted to make some changes.
After reading his book, I also bought the Calm app (not sponsored!) and started meditating every morning. Some days are easier than others but I can tell a huge difference in my mood. So this is a great simple healthy habit to add to your day.
You might be rolling your eyes at this one and thinking who has time to journal. I used to say that too until I stumbled upon The 5-Minute Journal.
This is a guided journal that takes less than 5 minutes to write. Every page is divided into two sections – morning & evening. You just need to fill out a few sections. It even has daily inspirational quotes.
If you have been struggling to keep up with a traditional journal, I would give this a try. It really helps you to see so many things you are grateful for and acknowledge them.
Drink Warm Lemon Water
I have a strict rule, I cannot drink my mushroom coffee unless I drink at least 16 oz of warm lemon water. Since I started drinking the warm lemon water, my skin less been looking so much better. It looks more vibrant and I get less acne. It also helps with digestion for me.
Of course, the best part is you are hydrated right when you wake up. You have been sleeping (hopefully) at least 8 hours and your body is dehydrated. This simple healthy habit is so easy to add to your morning routine.
Best Healthy Morning Routine Habits: Drink Your Greens
Imagine starting your day by eating all your greens for the day. I certainly don’t want to eat a salad for breakfast. So I found that the best way to get your greens in is drinking your greens.
This is when a green smoothie or a green juice comes in handy! When you have a powerful blender like a Vitamix, you don’t even need to spend time chopping your fruits and vegetables so small to make a quick smoothie.
You can also customize your green smoothies and make it how you like it. As long as you put a couple of handfuls of leafy greens such as spinach or kale, you are good to go.
If you don’t want to drink a smoothie or change up your routine, I also suggest drinking green juice instead. You can also drink a green smoothie and a green juice daily as well (that’s what I do!).
I personally don’t have time to make fresh green juice daily so I rely on my favorite slow masticating juicer to make a batch to last me a couple of days. Because there are minimal heat buildup and oxidation, my juice stays fresh for a couple of days. Quick & easy breakfast that will give you so much energy to start your day!
